A Look at Some Trickle Down Fashion Trends
Trickle down fashion trends first became a popular fashion statement in the 1960s and have been popular ever since. What this fashion trend started out as is considered mainstream today, because it represented the idea that you can get something for little or no cost and make it yourself and sell it. This concept of the trickle down fashion design is used with many different accessories to create outfits. Accessories are not limited to clothing but can include things like shoes, hats, scarves, handbags, and wallets. You could also add a few different items such as an accessory belt or purse on top of the outfit to complete the look.
There are many people who use this concept in order to make a quick buck and they end up having nothing to show for all their hard work. The major concern with this type of fashion is that it causes the clothing manufacturers to make less than quality products and sell them at a very low price so the middle class consumers end up buying a cheap knock off of the original item. These cheap knockoffs then get resold at higher prices making the consumer pay more than they would for the real thing.
However, there are some people who use trickle down fashion trends in order to get a lot of attention for a good cause. With one designer who is known for his AIDS awareness efforts, he uses this fashion style to help sell T-shirts with messages on them to the public. Another great example of someone using this fashion style is Princess Diana, who did her clothing in a trickle down manner where the majority of the design was left off for the sole purpose of making the piece as inconspicuous as possible. When the attention is paid to the simple design of the garment rather than the name of the person who is wearing it the clothing becomes appreciated by the general public even if the design is poor.
